Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons Chinese rice wine or dry sherry
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground white pepper
  • 2 pounds boneless pork shoulder, cut into 1-inch cubes

Directions

  1. In a bowl, combine the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, rice wine, sesame oil, garlic, ginger and white pepper. Stir to combine.
  2. Place the pork cubes in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over the pork. Use your hands to coat the pork cubes with the marinade. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  3. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  4. Arrange the pork cubes on a baking sheet. Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes, turning the cubes once halfway through cooking.
  5. Remove from oven and let cool before serving.
