2 pounds boneless pork shoulder, cut into 1-inch cubes
Directions
In a bowl, combine the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, rice wine, sesame oil, garlic, ginger and white pepper. Stir to combine.
Place the pork cubes in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over the pork. Use your hands to coat the pork cubes with the marinade. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Arrange the pork cubes on a baking sheet. Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes, turning the cubes once halfway through cooking.
Remove from oven and let cool before serving.
Interesting Facts
Char siu pork is traditionally made by hanging the pork over a charcoal fire.
The marinade for this recipe can also be used for chicken or beef.
