Ingredients
- 1 (3-4 pound) turkey
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup celery, diced
- 1/2 cup onion, diced
- 1/4 cup parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh sage, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Mix the Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, black pepper, thyme, cayenne pepper, and oregano together in a small bowl and set aside.
- Rub the turkey with the olive oil and season with the Cajun seasoning mixture.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and roast in the preheated oven for 45 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Meanwhile, melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the chicken broth, celery, onion, parsley, sage, and rosemary to the skillet and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in the bread crumbs, season with salt and pepper, and cook for an additional 3 minutes.
- Remove the stuffing from the heat and let cool.
- Remove the turkey from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes.
- Stuff the turkey with the stuffing and serve.
