Ingredients

  • 2 cups white sushi rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 3 tablespoons sushi vinegar

Directions

  1. Rinse the sushi rice in a fine mesh strainer until the water runs clear.
  2. Add the rinsed sushi rice to a medium saucepan with 2 cups of water.
  3. Bring the rice to a boil, stirring occasionally. Once it reaches a boil, reduce the heat to low and cover with a lid.
  4. Simmer for 15 minutes, then turn off the heat and let the rice steam for an additional 5 minutes.
  5. Transfer the cooked sushi rice to a large bowl and gently stir in the sushi vinegar.
  6. Let the rice cool before using it to make sushi rolls or onigiri.
