Ingredients
- 1 block of extra firm tofu, cubed
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1/4 cup of tamari or soy sauce
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons of fresh ginger, grated
- 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
- 4 slices of sourdough bread
- 1/4 cup of mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup of lettuce, shredded
- 1/4 cup of tomatoes, sliced
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- In a large bowl, combine the cubed tofu, olive oil, tamari or soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and black pepper. Mix until the tofu is evenly coated.
- Spread the tofu onto a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes, or until the tofu is golden brown.
- Spread mayonnaise onto two slices of the sourdough bread.
- Top each slice of bread with the roasted tofu, lettuce, and tomatoes.
- Top with the remaining two slices of bread to form the sandwich.
- Broil the sandwich for 2-3 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown.
