Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 2 (16-ounce) cans navy beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1/4 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Directions

  1. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook, stirring occasionally, until the onion is tender, about 5 minutes.
  2. Transfer the onion mixture to a 4-quart or larger slow cooker. Add the beans, ketchup, molasses, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, dry mustard, salt, and pepper.
  3. Stir to combine. Cover and cook on low heat for 4 to 5 hours, or until the beans are tender.
  4. Serve hot.
