Directions
- In a medium bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.
- Add the cold water and whisk until the mixture is smooth.
- In a shallow dish, add the cornstarch.
- Using a fork, dip each ring into the batter, then into the cornstarch, shaking off any excess.
- In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (177°C).
- Gently drop the battered rings into the oil and fry for 2-3 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.
- Using a slotted spoon, remove the rings from the oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
