Ingredients
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup cold water
1/2 cup cornstarch
1/2 cup vegetable oil, for frying
Directions
In a medium bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.
Add the cold water and whisk until the mixture is smooth.
In a shallow dish, add the cornstarch.
Using a fork, dip each ring into the batter, then into the cornstarch, shaking off any excess.
In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (177°C).
Gently drop the battered rings into the oil and fry for 2-3 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.
Using a slotted spoon, remove the rings from the oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
