Ingredients

  • 1 pound (455g) ground beef
  • 1 pound (455g) ground pork
  • 1 cup (240ml) ketchup
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) finely chopped green bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) plain bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) milk
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml) black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1.25ml) ground nutmeg

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine beef, pork, ketchup, onion, bell pepper, bread crumbs, milk, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Mix until all ingredients are evenly distributed and the mixture is sticky.
  3. Form the mixture into a large loaf and place it in a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  4. Bake for 60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  5. Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
