Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ½ cup white sugar, for rolling
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and 1 cup sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- Combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg; stir into the creamed mixture.
- Roll the dough into walnut sized balls and roll the balls in remaining sugar. Place the cookies 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
