Ingredients
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup gold luster dust
- 1/4 cup silver luster dust
- 1/4 cup warm water
- 1/4 cup white sugar
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt; stir into the creamed mixture alternately with the milk.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
- In a small bowl, mix together the gold and silver luster dust and warm water until smooth. Spoon the mixture over the top of the cooled cake. In a medium bowl, mix together the 1/4 cup sugar, 1/4 cup water, 1/4 teaspoon gold luster dust, and 1/4 teaspoon silver luster dust. Drizzle the mixture over the top of the cake.
