Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
  • 2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 pound beef, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 1/4 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup sliced bell peppers
  • 1/4 cup sliced green onions

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and gochujang. Add the beef and mix to combine. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef and marinade and cook until the beef is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the onions, carrots, mushrooms, bell peppers, and green onions and cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Serve the beef bulgogi over steamed rice.
