Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup quick-cooking oats
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking sheet with butter and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar using an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the vanilla extract and mix until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, oats, and baking soda. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Using a tablespoon, scoop the dough and roll into balls. Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet. Flatten the cookies slightly using a fork.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Allow the cookies to cool before serving.
