Ingredients

  • 1 cup white rice
  • 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1/2 carrot, diced
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1/2 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean red pepper paste)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds, toasted

Directions

  1. Cook the white rice according to package instructions.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and onion and cook until the beef is no longer pink, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the carrot, bell pepper, mushrooms, garlic, gochujang, sesame oil, and soy sauce. Cook for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Transfer the cooked beef and vegetables to a bowl. Set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, fry the egg sunny side up.
  6. To assemble the bibimbap, place 1 cup of cooked rice in each bowl and top with the beef and vegetables. Place the fried egg on top and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  7. Serve and enjoy!
