Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease one 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, mash the bananas until no large chunks remain.
  3. Mix in the melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix together the baking soda, cinnamon, salt, and flour. Slowly mix into the banana mixture until well blended.
  5. Stir in the walnuts, if desired.
  6. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  8. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a cooling rack.
