Ingredients

  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup jelly or jam
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese, 1/2 cup sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the flour mixture to the cream cheese mixture and beat until combined.
  4. Roll dough into 1-inch (2.5 cm) balls and place on a greased baking sheet. Make an indention in the center of each ball with your finger.
  5. Fill each indention with 1/2 teaspoon of jelly or jam.
  6. In a small bowl, mix together melted butter and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Brush the tops of the cookie dough balls with the butter-sugar mixture.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool before serving.
