Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup butter, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup chopped apples (about 1 medium apple)
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries or raisins

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla until combined.
  4. Stir in the flour mixture until combined. Fold in the oats, apples, walnuts, and dried cranberries or raisins.
  5. Drop the dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
