Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups milk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 2 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and chopped into small pieces
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup caramel sauce
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Directions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, beat the milk, eggs, and melted butter until well combined.
- Slowly pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix as it can make the pancakes dense.
- Gently fold in the chopped apples, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon into the pancake batter.
- Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease the surface with butter or cooking spray.
- Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the hot skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
- Repeat with the remaining batter, adding more butter or cooking spray as needed.
- Serve the pancakes stack on a plate, drizzle with caramel sauce, and sprinkle with chopped walnuts (optional).
- Enjoy the warm and delicious Apples-in-Pajamas with your favorite beverage!
