Ingredients
- 3 large apples (cored, peeled, and sliced into wedges)
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon allspice
- 1/2 cup butter (melted)
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- In a medium bowl, mix together white sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. Set aside.
- In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add cornstarch, salt, and water; stir until smooth. Gradually add sugar mixture, stirring constantly until thickened. Remove from heat.
- Press the pie crust into a 9-inch pie plate. Place apples in the crust, and pour sugar mixture over the apples.
- Bake in preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes, or until golden brown.
