Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups white sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 cup chopped dates
- 1 cup chopped candied cherries
- 1 cup chopped gumdrops
- 1 cup chopped dried apricots
Directions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time.
- In a separate bowl, combine the cinnamon, nutmeg, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and flour. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, stirring just until combined.
- Fold in the walnuts, raisins, dates, cherries, gumdrops and apricots. Spread the batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake at 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Cool in the pan 20 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
