1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until no longer pink. Drain fat and stir in garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
In a 9x13-inch baking dish, layer half of the potatoes, the ground beef, and the cheese. Top with the remaining potatoes.
In a medium bowl, mix together the onion, cream of mushroom soup, milk, and butter. Pour over the casserole.
Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, or until potatoes are tender.
