Ingredients
1 cup of all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 teaspoon of salt
1/2 cup of butter
1 cup of granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
2 cups of peeled, cored, and diced apples
1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
1/2 cup of chopped walnuts
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
In a medium bowl, sift together flour, baking powder and salt; set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
Gradually blend in the dry ingredients until just incorporated. Fold in apples and cinnamon, then pour batter into prepared pan.
Sprinkle walnuts over the top and bake for 45 to 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
