Ingredients
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 cup of butter
- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 2 cups of peeled, cored, and diced apples
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a medium bowl, sift together flour, baking powder and salt; set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
- Gradually blend in the dry ingredients until just incorporated. Fold in apples and cinnamon, then pour batter into prepared pan.
- Sprinkle walnuts over the top and bake for 45 to 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack and cool completely.
