- 2 and 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed light-brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs, at room temperature
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl and set aside.
- Using a mixer, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the vanilla extract and eggs.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Drop the dough in 2-tablespoon increments onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving 3 inches between each cookie.
- Bake until the edges are lightly golden, 8 to 10 minutes.
- Remove the baking sheets from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
