Ingredients

  • 2 cups of whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 cup of melted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup of warm water
  • 2 teaspoons of active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt. Set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the butter, eggs, and warm water. Whisk together until combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the yeast and vegetable oil. Let sit for 5 minutes.
  4. Add the yeast mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
  5. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring continuously until a dough forms.
  6. Knead the dough for 8-10 minutes, until it is smooth and elastic.
  7. Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour.
  8. Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf.
  9. Place the loaf on a greased baking sheet and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  10. Preheat the oven to 375°F and bake for 30-35 minutes, until golden brown.
  11. Remove from the oven and let cool before serving.
