Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pound ground venison
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1/2 cup tequila
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the onion and garlic, and cook until the onion is softened and translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the ground venison and cook until the meat is no longer pink, about 8 minutes.
- Stir in the chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, and cayenne pepper. Cook for 1 minute.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, black beans, red kidney beans, and tequila. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot.
