Ingredients

  • 2 venison steaks, boneless
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup olive oil

Directions

  1. In a shallow dish, combine garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and ground black pepper. Rub the mixture into both sides of the venison steaks.
  2. In a separate shallow dish, pour the flour. In another shallow dish, beat the eggs. In a third shallow dish, pour the panko bread crumbs.
  3. Dredge each steak in the flour, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with the panko breadcrumbs.
  4. In a large skillet, melt the butter and olive oil together over medium heat.
  5. Gently place the steaks in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until the schnitzel is golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Remove from the skillet and serve hot.
