Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup peeled and finely chopped pears

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 12-cup muffin tin.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together the melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla. Stir in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  4. Fold in the pears. Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup 3/4 full.
  5. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.
  6. Cool in the tin for 5 minutes before removing to cool completely on a wire rack.
