Ingredients
- 1 pound dry navy beans
- 1 onion, diced
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Directions
- Soak the navy beans overnight in cold water.
- The next day, drain and rinse the beans.
- Transfer the beans to a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes, or until the beans are tender.
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- In a large bowl, combine the onion, ketchup, molasses, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, salt and pepper. Mix well.
- Add the cooked beans to the bowl and mix until the beans are evenly coated.
- Transfer the bean mixture to a baking dish.
- Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from oven and serve warm.
