Ingredients

  • 1 (18.25-ounce) package white cake mix
  • 1 (3-ounce) package key lime-flavored gelatin
  • 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2/3 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 cup key lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated lime zest
  • 1 (8-ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, gelatin, sweetened condensed milk, sour cream, melted butter, key lime juice, and lime zest. Beat until smooth.
  3. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  4. Allow cake to cool completely before poking holes in the top. Pour the whipped topping over the top of the cooled cake and spread evenly.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
