Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup chicken or beef broth
  • Pastry for double-crust pie

Directions

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground pork and ground beef over medium heat until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
  2. Add the chopped onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until the onion is soft.
  3. Stir in the cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
  4. Pour in the broth and simmer for 10-15 minutes until the mixture thickens.
  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Line a pie dish with one of the pastry crusts.
  7. Pour the meat mixture into the pie crust and cover with the second crust, sealing the edges.
  8. Cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
