Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 3 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups sauerkraut, drained
- 2 cups cooked corned beef, chopped
- 2 cups Swiss cheese, shredded
- 1 cup rye bread crumbs
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Whisk in the flour and cook until golden, about 1 minute.
- Slowly whisk in the milk and continue to whisk until the mixture is thick and bubbly. Remove from the heat.
- Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- In a large bowl, combine the sauerkraut, corned beef, and Swiss cheese.
- Pour in the sauce and mix until everything is combined.
- Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle the bread crumbs evenly over the top of the casserole.
- Bake for 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
