Ingredients

  • 1 quart of store-bought dill pickles
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1/4 cup of white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup of water
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes

Directions

  1. Drain the pickles in a colander and rinse with cold water.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, vinegar, water, garlic, and red pepper flakes. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.
  3. Add the pickles and simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Remove from the heat and let cool to room temperature.
  5. Transfer to a glass jar and store in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.
