Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground pork, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, soy sauce, and salt and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form mixture into patties and fry in hot oil until golden brown on both sides. Remove from pan and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, sauté bell pepper until slightly softened. Add in pineapple chunks.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar, soy sauce, and water. Pour over the bell pepper and pineapple mixture.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix cornstarch with a little water to create a slurry. Add to the sauce mixture to thicken.
  6. Return the pork patties to the pan and coat with the sweet and sour sauce. Cook for a few more minutes until heated through.
  7. Serve hot over steamed rice and enjoy!
