Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup of suet
  • 1 cup of dried fruit (sultanas, raisins, currants, etc.)
  • 1/2 cup of dark brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon of grated nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup of self-raising flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup of milk

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F (170C). Grease an 8-inch (20 cm) round cake tin.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the suet, dried fruit, sugar, spices and breadcrumbs.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, egg and milk until you have a smooth batter.
  4. Add the batter to the dry ingredients and mix together until thoroughly combined.
  5. Pour the mixture into the prepared tin and bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Allow the pudding to cool before slicing and serving.
