2 cups buttermilk
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon kosher salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
Canola oil for frying
Directions
In a large bowl, combine the chicken gizzards and buttermilk. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.
In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix until combined.
Heat the oil in a deep fryer or a large pot to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Remove the gizzards from the buttermilk and dredge them in the flour mixture, making sure to coat them completely.
