Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, chilled and cubed
  • 1 cup sour cream

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add butter and use a pastry blender or two knives to cut the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse meal.
  4. Stir in the sour cream until just combined.
  5. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently until it just comes together. Do not overwork the dough.
  6. Pat or roll the dough out to 1/2-inch thickness and cut with a biscuit cutter. Place biscuits onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
