Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9 inch round cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, ginger, and allspice.
In a large bowl, whisk together the sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
Stir in the buttermilk and pecans and mix until just combined.
Pour batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until the center of the cake is set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
