Ingredients
4 slices of bacon
1 small yellow onion, diced
1/4 cup water
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Directions
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook bacon until crisp. Remove the bacon from the pan, and set aside.
Add the diced onion to the skillet. Cook until the onion is soft and translucent. Add water, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. Stir to combine.
Add the green beans to the skillet, and stir to combine. Cover, and reduce heat to low. Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Crumble the bacon, and add to the skillet. Stir to combine. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Serve the smothered green beans immediately.
