Ingredients
- 3 pounds pork ribs
- 1/2 cup hoisin sauce
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
Directions
- In a bowl, whisk together the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, brown sugar, and black pepper.
- Place the ribs in a large zip-top bag and pour the marinade over them. Seal the bag and massage the marinade into the ribs. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
- Remove the ribs from the marinade and place them in the slow cooker. Pour any remaining marinade over the ribs.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours, until the ribs are tender and cooked through.
- Remove the ribs from the slow cooker and transfer them to a baking sheet lined with foil.
- Preheat the broiler on high. Brush the ribs with some of the cooking liquid from the slow cooker.
- Broil the ribs for 2-3 minutes, until they are caramelized and slightly charred. Keep a close eye on them to prevent burning.
- Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes. Sprinkle with sliced green onions before serving.
- Serve the slow-cooker hoisin ribs with steamed rice and your favorite greens.
