Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 cup diced bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese of your choice
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/4 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup diced jalapeños
  • 1/4 cup sliced green onions
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup salsa
  • 1 bag tortilla chips

Directions

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef and onions until the beef is browned and cooked through.
  2. Add the bell pepper and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  3. Add the ketchup, barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, chili powder, black pepper, and salt. Stir to combine until all of the ingredients are evenly distributed.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  6. Spread the tortilla chips on a large baking sheet.
  7. Top with the sloppy joe mixture, cheese, olives, tomatoes, jalapeños, and green onions in that order.
  8. Bake for 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the chips are lightly golden.
  9. Top with sour cream and salsa.
  10. Serve hot.
