Ingredients

  • 2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and cardamom.
  2. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and the vanilla extract and mix until combined.
  4. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and mix until combined.
  5. Form the dough into a ball and wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  6. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  7. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to 1/4 inch thickness.
  8. Cut out biscuits using a biscuit cutter or a glass.
  9. Place biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. Cool on a wire rack and enjoy!
