Ingredients
- 2 (8 ounce) sirloin steaks
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 pound mushrooms, sliced
- 1/2 cup white wine
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Season the steaks with salt and pepper and add to the hot skillet.
- Cook the steaks for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked to desired doneness.
- Remove the steaks from the skillet and set aside.
- Add the butter to the same skillet and melt over medium heat.
- Add the onion and mushrooms and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
- Add the white wine to the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the liquid is reduced by half.
- Stir in the Dijon mustard and heavy cream. Simmer for 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce thickens.
- Return the steaks to the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until heated through.
- Serve the steaks with the mushroom sauce.
