Ingredients
- 2 pounds of chicken, beef, or mutton
- 1/4 cup of vegetable oil
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons of fresh ginger, grated
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons of fish sauce
- 1 teaspoon of ground turmeric
- 1 teaspoon of ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon of ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon of ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 cup of unsalted peanuts, finely ground
Directions
- Cut the chicken, beef, or mutton into 1-inch cubes and place in a large bowl.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the vegetable oil, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, fish sauce, turmeric, coriander, cumin, cloves, and pepper.
- Pour the marinade over the meat cubes and mix until all the cubes are evenly coated.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, heat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Thread the marinated meat onto skewers and place on the hot grill.
- Grill for 5 to 7 minutes per side, or until the meat is cooked through.
- Serve the satay skewers with the peanut sauce.
