Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla until combined.
  4. Gradually beat in flour mixture until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts (if using).
  5. Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto prepared baking sheets, about 2 inches apart. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown.
  6. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
