  • 3 cups thinly sliced carrots
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 2 quart baking dish.
  2. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk, stirring constantly, and cook until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in salt and pepper.
  3. Place carrots in the prepared baking dish. Pour milk mixture over the carrots and stir to combine.
  4. Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until carrots are tender.
