Ingredients
1/2 pound thinly sliced beef (about 6 slices)
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
4 slices bacon, cut in half
1 onion, sliced
1/4 cup chopped dill pickles
1 cup beef broth
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions
Lay the beef slices on a work surface and spread each piece with a thin layer of mustard.
Divide the bacon, onion, and pickles among the beef slices, placing the ingredients in the center of each slice.
Roll up each slice and secure with a toothpick.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the beef rolls. Cook until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes.
Add the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.
Remove the lid and simmer for an additional 5 minutes to reduce the sauce.
Remove the toothpicks and season with salt and pepper, to taste.
Serve the rouladen with mashed potatoes or egg noodles.
