Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ⅔ cup cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 jar hazelnut spread
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Add the granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
  3. Sift the flour, cocoa powder, and salt into the wet mixture. Stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  4. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan. Spread the hazelnut spread evenly over the batter. Top with the remaining batter and smooth the surface.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Do not overbake.
  6. While the brownies are baking, heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan until it begins to steam. Remove from heat and add the chopped semisweet chocolate. Let it sit for a few minutes, then whisk until smooth to make the ganache.
  7. Once the brownies are done baking, remove them from the oven and let them cool completely in the pan. Once cooled, pour the chocolate ganache over the brownies and spread it evenly.
  8. Refrigerate the brownies for at least 2 hours to allow the ganache to set.
  9. Slice the brownies into squares and serve.
