Add in the vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the buttermilk and limoncello. Beat until just combined.
Spread the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool completely before glazing.
To make the glaze, combine the lemon zest, lemon juice, heavy cream, and powdered sugar in a small bowl. Whisk until smooth. Pour the glaze over the cooled cake.
