Ingredients
- 4 pounds apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
- 1 cup apple cider
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
Directions
- In a large pot, combine the apples, apple cider, and brown sugar.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, reduce the heat, and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves to the pot, and continue to simmer for 10 minutes.
- Remove the pot from the heat and let cool for 10 minutes.
- Transfer the mixture to a blender and blend until smooth.
- Spoon the apple butter into jars and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
