Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 (14.5 oz) can sauerkraut, drained and rinsed
- 1/4 cup Thousand Island dressing
- 1/4 cup prepared Russian dressing
- 1/4 cup red onion, diced
- 1/2 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 package puff pastry, thawed
- 1 egg, beaten with 1 tablespoon water
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat for 5-7 minutes, or until beef is cooked through. Drain any excess fat.
- Add sauerkraut, Thousand Island dressing, Russian dressing, red onion, and Swiss cheese to the skillet. Stir to combine and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until cheese is melted.
- Remove skillet from heat and allow mixture to cool slightly.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out puff pastry into a 12x12 inch square. Cut into 12 (3-inch) squares.
- Divide filling evenly among the 12 pastry squares. Brush edges of each square with the egg wash.
- Fold each square in half diagonally and press edges together with a fork to seal.
- Brush tops of each hand-pie with melted butter. Place on prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool before serving.
