Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup of butter
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 packages of active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup of warm water
  • 1 cup of warm milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together the butter, sugar, cinnamon and salt until well blended.
  2. In a separate bowl, dissolve the yeast in the warm water and let stand for 5 minutes.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the milk, eggs, and yeast mixture. Add the flour and stir until a soft dough forms.
  4. On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough out into a large rectangle, approximately 1/4 inch thick.
  5. Spread the cinnamon mixture over the dough, then roll it up tightly, starting at one of the short ends.
  6. Cut the roll into 1-inch thick slices and place them in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  7. Cover the dish with a damp cloth and let rise in a warm place for 20 minutes.
  8. Bake in a preheated 350 degree F oven for 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
