This quick and easy twenty minute lasagna is perfect for those busy weeknights when you're craving a comforting and satisfying meal. Made with layers of flavorful meat sauce, creamy ricotta cheese, and gooey mozzarella, this homemade lasagna is sure to become a family favorite. And the best part? It can be on the table in just twenty minutes!
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon dried basil
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 8 lasagna noodles
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
Directions
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, water, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Simmer the sauce for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- While the sauce is simmering, cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Place 4 lasagna noodles on top of the sauce. Spoon half of the remaining meat sauce over the noodles.
- Spread half of the ricotta cheese evenly over the meat sauce. Sprinkle half of the shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese over the ricotta cheese.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining lasagna noodles, meat sauce, ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, and Parmesan cheese.
- Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 10 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
